10、入境证 (Entry Permit). It is issued to those who hold a long term pass as well as certain categories of foreign nationals who are not eligible for permanent residence, but whose presence in Singapore will be deemed desirable. They can also be granted an entry permit if they have good reasons to require admission into the country at some future date, although permission may be subject to conditions. Holders of an entry permit generally do not remain in Singapore beyond the expiration period stipulated on their permit or travel documents and must obtain a new one before leaving and reentering the country. An example would be journalists with work visas.
In addition, holders of a Dependant’s Pass under Section 5A, 5B, 5C or 5D of the Immigration Act or a Long Term Social Visit Pass may apply for Entry Permits to be granted to their minor children who were born out of wedlock, provided that such children are unmarried, under age 21 and residing with them overseas. These minors may then travel with their parents to Singapore without obtaining separate visitor’s passes. The number of entries allowed onto the permits for each child is limited according to the duration of stay which was specified when the parent’s application for the dependant’s visa or LTSVP was approved by MOM. Please note however, that upon arrival at Singapore airport immigration officers reserve the right to request that the applicant produce evidence of the child's entitlement to travel with him such as a birth certificate or other relevant documentation. Applicants should submit all supporting documents at least two weeks prior to departure from their place of origin.
